Dr. Jeff Bowman, foot specialist in Houston, TX treats all kinds of foot and ankle injuries on a regular basis. One of the most important parts of the treatment process for many foot and ankle injuries is physical therapy.
After an injury is sustained or surgery is performed, the primary goal is to return health and function to that area. Physical therapy focuses on specific exercises and strengthening techniques to strengthen the injured area, restore range of motion, improve balance and get you back to the level of activity you desire. Dr. Bowman or a trusted professional physical therapist know and understand the mechanics of your body and will use physical therapy to target the weakened area and get you back to living without pain.
After an injury, joints and muscles can become stiff and tight. Physical therapy uses stretching to help release that tension and brings range of motion back to where it should be. After an injury or surgery, the area is prone to developing scar tissue that can inhibit rehabilitation. Physical therapy also helps to minimize the development of potential scar tissue.
If you are struggling after an injury or surgery with the healing process or getting back into your daily activities, please contact Dr. Bowman. Starting an appropriate physical therapy plan may be exactly what is needed. You can schedule an appointment by calling our podiatric office at (713) 467-8886 or online at www.houstonfootspecialists.com.

I had an accident about three years ago in which my left leg broke. Here keeps much pain in this leg. I think I should also take a normal treatment of physical therapy for the total relief from this pain. Physical therapy, therapist Bergen county

ReplyDeleteI have had several injuries to my right ankle and can attest to the seriousness that comes with foot care. It is essential to see someone to help you. I didn't take care of mine and it eventually got much worse for me. http://infootdocs.com
ReplyDeleteMy son broke his foot awhile ago and is getting his cast off soon. Will he need to have physical therapy since it's been in a cast for so long? I want to make sure that his foot is completely okay. I've been wondering whether or not I should have a foot specialist check it out to make sure that it is okay. Should I? Or am I worrying too much about his foot? http://www.rockymtnfootandankle.com

When I was in high school I partially tore ligaments in my ankle while playing basketball. I didn't need surgery, and I didn't break anything. It was still a long recovery. The doctors actually told me that a break would have been easier to repair. That's the closest I've ever come to needing surgery or anything like it. I can't imagine how bad it could have been, or what it would have been like if I did need surgery.

I agree that after an injury, joints and muscles can become stiff and tight. This happened to me recently after I suffered from a foot injury. I haven't gone into the doctors yet, but I think seeing a foot doctor would be really helpful. I'll have to make an appointment with one soon. http://www.westmorelandfootdoctor.com/Bunion_Treatment_Greensburg_PA.html
